Hit a pole with my car, should I contact insurance? What to do?
BlueBlueBlue asked:
I hit a pole with my car in the parking lot of my apartment complex. Now there’s a giant dent on the rear passenger door and some other scrapes on the fender. No injuries.
What should I do? Should I contact my insurance company?
How can I get the best price if I bring this to an autobody repair shop myself?
Thank you.

Did it cause more damage than your deductible would cost you. if not then no do not turn it in to the insurance. and if it will cost more than your deductible you just have to decide if you would rather just pay for it yourself and not have it go on your insurance and possibly make your insurance bill go up and cost you more in the long run than just paying for it out of your pocket.
And you should ask around find a good reputable repair shop to take your car to. The best way to that is to talk to customers of the shops nothing better public opinion when it comes to that kind of thing
like the above answer said if its less than the deductible pay for it out of pocket you,ll be better off, this way they wont have a reason to raise your policy up any, good luck.
Try to deal it out of pocket, otherwise insurance rates will go up much more. You can check how quotes will change here – autoinsurance.hotusa.org
